About us

The Fields of Honor Foundation is a non-profit organisation that has been working since 2007 to keep alive the memory of fallen American liberators. Because we believe that no one deserves to be forgotten.

Our work stems from gratitude. As a group of adopters, we began researching the soldiers whose graves we adopted at the American cemeteries in Ardennes (Belgium), Henri-Chapelle (Belgium) and Margraten in 2008. More than 15 years later, the digital monument, which now also includes the American cemeteries in Epinal, Lorraine and Luxembourg, consists of the stories of 45,000 soldiers, and thousands of soldiers at the American cemetery in Margraten have been given a face during the tribute The Faces of Margraten, which had its first edition in 2015.

The website has therefore become a valuable resource for adopters, soldiers’ families and cemetery staff. By working with these groups, our volunteers are able to add new information to the database on a daily basis, which now also includes the American cemeteries in Epinal, Lorraine and Luxembourg.
