Donate or become a donor

Our foundation is entirely dependent on volunteers. They are adopters of the graves, but also relatives of military personnel. Some are young, others a little older. They stand in all weathers at the American cemetery in Margraten to give a face to thousands of soldiers during the tribute The Faces of Margraten. They spend hours searching the internet for information. They send letters or make phone calls to possible relatives. They can be found in local libraries or at veterans’ associations looking for information. Thanks to them, the search that began in 2008 with a single soldier has grown into this digital monument, which now, 17 years later, contains tens of thousands of stories. The website has become a valuable resource for adopters, soldiers’ families and cemetery staff, among others.

The foundation does not receive any structural subsidies. That makes your support even more important. With a one-off donation, large or small, or by becoming a regular donor, you can help our volunteers in their work. With your contribution, we can, for example, print faces, pay for subscriptions to research websites, and keep the virtual memorial online.
